Share the Laughs is a ticket-forwarding scheme run by and for comedy fans. We believe that online streams should be accessible to all, and we know that financial instability can affect any of us without warning. We give fans the opportunity to pay-it-forward and buy a ticket for someone who might not be able to afford it.
We believe in:
A ‘no-questions-asked’ approach to evidencing need, rejecting any means-tested distribution models favoured by some pay-it-forward ticketing schemes.
Anonymised donations allow both pledgers and recipients privacy and dignity. Both are able to leave the scheme at any point. Privacy at both ends of the ticket purchasing process means that no debt is owed.
The belief that ‘paying it forward’ is not always financial; although recipients of tickets can choose to join the pledging list when they are able, we take a broader view of reciprocity and kindness, that envisions the wider community benefits of paying-it-forward in alternative ways.
